HCMC – HCMC customs officers have discovered three shipping containers of bed covers which come from China but bear “Made in Vietnam” labels, the local media reported.
The Saigon Port Border Customs Sub-department Region I collaborated on January 3 with the Customs Supervision Team and the risk management division, under the HCMC Department of Customs, to examine three containers of imported bed covers. These bed covers were reportedly found originating in China, but carried “Made in Vietnam” labels.
The bed covers were imported by Super Foam Company in Binh Duong Province.
Based on the preliminary results, the customs officers determined that the firm had used fake origin labels.
The sub-department and the relevant agencies are continuing their examination of the three containers. However, after the customs officers’ discovery, the firm began re-export procedures.
The HCMC Department of Customs said it has recently joined with other agencies to check a series of goods imported into Vietnam and has discovered several incidents of origin fraud. |
