HCMC - Saigon Cuu Long Corporation on Monday started work on the first hotel to be managed by Hilton Worldwide in HCMC.
Saigon Cuu Long, which is active in various business fields, and a local partner will spend around US$100 million on the hotel project at Me Linh Square in HCMC’s District 1. The Hilton Saigon hotel will overlook the Bach Dang Wharf and the Saigon River when it is ready in the fourth quarter of 2019.
The hotel would have 350 rooms and nearly 1,500 square meters of meeting space, including an 820-square-meter ballroom. Other facilities consist of casino, spa, gym, all-day dining restaurants, bar and Grab-and-Go shop, outdoor swimming pool and discotheque.
The project marks an expansion of Hilton Worldwide in Vietnam. The group now manages Hilton Hanoi Opera and Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi, and in near future, Hilton Danang.
“On July 6’s announcement underscores our commitment to grow our presence in Vietnam, both by introducing more brands from our portfolio of 13 brands and by entering into new location - HCMC, an economic center of Vietnam as well as a gateway destination for leisure and business travelers,” Guy Phillips, senior vice president development, Asia and Australasia at Hilton Worldwide, said at the signing ceremony of an management agreement for the hotel.
Sean Wooden, vice president, brand management, Asia Pacific at Hilton Worldwide, said the group is proud to introduce Hilton Hotels & Resorts, the brand of Hilton Worldwide with more than 570 hotels across six continents, to HCMC.
As part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio, Hilton Saigon will participate in Hilton Hhonors, the guest-loyalty program for Hilton Worldwide’s 13 hotel brands. Hilton Hhonors members will get exclusive rates, along with Hhonors Points, free wifi, and digital check-in and no booking fee when they book directly through Hilton.
